Begining to draw ideas into practice

Over the Christmas period I developed a studio and thus went live with registrations January 2020. The aim of the school is INCLUSIVE support and acceptance with whom ever wants to learn in a fun and safe place. Dance has become very much about competitions and professional development and many studios have forgotten the key fact of what dance can provide to a child. ABPA registered 25% of its current intake with children who have additional needs. ADHA, ADD, DOWNNSYNDROME, KLEEFSTRA SYNDROM, RETT SYNDROME, ASPERGES, CERABLE PALSY, AUTISUM, HYPER MOBILITY AND AXSIETY. The planning for classes has taken some hard work but it was an incredible response from the students and their parents. I'm excited to report my findings and begin to produce my program for inclusivity between dance and disability in coming weeks.

october 7th 2019 week reflection

This week has been a huge journey for me. with regards to learning I have found it incredibly difficult to focus on the task at hand with the amount of work shops and own personal learning I am doing to achieve my goal. Mental health has been a big discussion this week and after breaking through with my first education work shop with drama and dance this week for local schools I have been inundated with messages of thanks. Just another amazing journey through dance and what it can do for each and everyone o us . We need no experience an high level of skills to explore this world of creativity. It is a joy to work with these children who find day to day activities difficult but still bring a smile to the workshops, express themselves and have fun. others can take from this experience a sense of understanding of others limitations and how to help, reassure and promote wellbeing.

I have joined Middlesex University as a director, choreographer, professional dancer, studio and production company owner. When voicing my interest to the individuals within my circle, felt this was not the path for me. After the introduction today I am more than justified in my reasoning for joining. I have a thrust for knowledge and keen to engage with others, hearing their opinions and thoughts. I am excited to be inspired by you all. I have had a glittering career within musical theatre and professional dance, I am proud I am a member of several associations of dance and have worked my way for the past fifteen years to grow reputation and qualifications. Motherhood was a new and exciting journey for me one which until 2016 I was able to share with my other daughters ( I have four daughters ages five, four, three, one). My third daughter Darcey was born with a rare genetic disease called Kleefstra Syndrome and hit double with another called Rett syndrome. (they make for an inter...
